This feature is a question-and-answer session with a new Blount County Chamber member. So, here we go with our 125th installment visiting with Jordan Adams, owner of Single Barrel Events – Professional Bartending Service.
What does Single Barrel Events do? After moving to East Tennessee from Las Vegas, my husband Jake and I decided to continue our love of bartending. We were unable to find a good fit in the Blount County area so the idea of a mobile bartending service came to mind. At Single Barrel Events we provide professional, experienced, and friendly bartenders. Our goal is to provide superior service that allows the host to sit back and enjoy the event and leave your guests talking about what a great time they had.
How did you get started? Soon after our license and insurance were obtained, we were able to secure our first event. We received this event just a week after our launch. Social media and word of mouth were a huge part of our successful start.
What is your background? With 22 years combined experience we have tended bar at a range of events including casinos, concerts, festivals, weddings, conventions, corporate events as well as in-home parties. Jake is a certified Tequila expert with The Tequila Regulatory Council in Mexico and is also an accredited mixologist graduating from the Academy of Spirits offered by Southern Wine and Spirits, and is trained in both working and exhibition style flair.
Who is your mentor? The wedding community has welcomed us with open arms. Our first year in business we received great advice from more vendors than I can count. Chef Tony with First Fruits Catering and Farrah Deck with Colonial Estate stand out as two of the most helpful and kind vendors. They have answered endless questions and have given valuable advice.
Describe your customers. With the majority of our business being weddings, we are blessed with the best and happiest clients. Brides, grooms, wedding planners and party planners for corporate events make up our client base.
Name three things you wish you knew when you started. How quickly our business would grow! I wish I had know earlier about networking events within the wedding community. I wish I had known to joined Blount Chamber sooner!
What do you enjoy about the business? We truly enjoy the relationships we have made with our clients. We have had the pleasure to be a part of weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, retirements and corporate gatherings.
