Blount County Opens First Operation HOPE Inside Location

First Horizon National Corp. (“First Horizon”) (NYSE: FHN) today celebrated Blount County’s first Operation HOPE Inside location at its Alcoa Financial Center. The bank established a strategic partnership in 2014 with Operation HOPE to provide communities with the resources to empower people to help themselves, to achieve economic dignity, and secure their financial future.

First Horizon’s Alcoa financial center is home to the 29th HOPE Inside location. More than 17,000 community members have been served across First Horizon’s footprint; in 2018 alone, 84 new businesses were created.

“We are tremendously excited to bring this new free resource to Blount County,” said Greg Wilson, First Horizon’s Maryville Regional President. “Anyone can utilize this opportunity whether or not they are a First Horizon customer. Our doors are open to all who want to improve their financial health.”

To learn more about how to take control of budgeting, improve your credit score, or start your own business, Operation HOPE’s free workshops are an ideal way to get started:

  • “Banking for beginners” is a five-week program teaching students how to manage money with classes about budgeting, credit, saving, and investing.
  • “Improve your credit score in only three hours” is a 700 Credit Score Communities workshop to help you improve your credit score. Upon completion, you can set up a private session with a financial coach to get one-on-one insights and learn more about money management skills.
  • “Learn how to start your own small business in 12 weeks” focuses on business planning and learning how to be an entrepreneur.

The Alcoa HOPE Inside location is in the First Horizon Financial Center located at 112 South Hall Road. The financial empowerment workshops will help benefit the community at large and help individuals feel in control of their finances. For more information, contact Jodi Self at or (865) 518-0322.
