Blount Chamber Membership Event Nets 161 Members in Day 1

Making the call. That’s what brought community members together for fun and excitement as the Blount County Chamber’s member event kicked off with 161 new members joining or upgrading memberships.

With the assistance of facilitator Jimmy Cusano from Your Chamber Connection, nearly 150 individuals and community leaders united at the Airport Hilton to call on their business counterparts to join the chamber.

The volunteers passed along the initiatives the chamber is working on like workforce development through soft skills training, career exploration and work-based learning, in addition to expanding adventure and outdoor experiences to increase tourism.

“It brings a lot of energy and excitement to the community and gets people involved,” said Cusano. “People who have never thought about the chamber, get actively engaged with this process and stay engaged.”

“The enthusiasm and energy in the room was tremendous,” said Blount Partnership President/CEO Bryan Daniels. “We bring together a cross section of our community to build on what we already have, which is a strong chamber, and make it even stronger. We get the top layer of the community involved in the process to

make sure we continue to grow through the economic strength of the companies that do business in Blount County.”

Not only is the chamber the voice of business, but it takes on issues important to companies while offering opportunities to help people make connections they otherwise could not.

The event continues Wednesday at 8:28 a.m. and culminates in a wrap-up party Thursday at 5:21 p.m. where the final membership totals will be revealed.
