Barge Design Solutions Elects Stu Henry as Jack L. Wood Award Winner
The Jack L. Wood Excellence in Service Award recognizes an employee who has over time provided superior service to our firm, displaying dedication and loyalty. The firm honors employees who share the same passion and drive that elevates their communities, team, and themselves to make their surroundings better. Stu Henry was the 2019 recipient, awarded at the recent Annual Stockholder’s Meeting.
Barge’s Knoxville office Vice President and Senior Project Engineer Stu Henry joined Barge in 1997. His 22-year career is marked by thorough work, commitment to collaboration, creative and strategic problem solving, and being known as a “go-to” for many other Barge employees across multiple engineering disciplines. Some of Henry’s most notable projects include Knoxville’s Law Enforcement Training Academy, the Knoxville Convention Center, Knoxville’s Market Square Redevelopment, and multiple Tennessee Valley Authority projects. Each of these projects are extensive and complex, and regardless of the role Henry played on the team, he showed his dedication to quality, timeliness, and efficiency.
Henry was nominated by his supervisor, Andrew Murr, and two coworkers Heather Smith Sawyer and Carrie Stokes. They write, “Through his actions over the course of his career, Stu has proven himself to be an invaluable team member on projects completed across the firm for various business units and offices. His authenticity and willingness to challenge the status quo when approaching difficult problems have benefited project teams beyond measure. Stu’s performance, as well as his day-to-day interactions, have earned him the respect of clients and coworkers alike.”
Barge Design Solutions aims to be the firm best known for being selected when it matters most. Henry exemplifies this vision, and Barge is proud to honor his work through this presentation of the Jack L. Wood Award.
