Cades Cove Cellars Receives 2014 Indy International Wine Awards

Maryville, Tenn. – Over 2,200 wines were entered into one of the nation’s largest wine competitions, the Indy International Wine Competition, held July 30 through August 1, at Purdue University where Cades Cove Cellars took home multiple awards, including Wine Packaging Design of the Year and Wine Label Design of the Year crafted and designed by Graphic-FX in Maryville, Tennessee. This was a new category in this year’s Indy International Wine Awards competition.

Cades Cove Cellars was thrilled with the prestigious awards as over 40 states were represented as well as 11 different countries. They came home with 3 silver medals and 2 bronze medals for their wines that were judged by 45 international judges based on the appearance, aroma, taste, and aftertaste. This was in addition to the packaging and label design awards.

The logo used on the winning labels includes a hidden wine glass in the bear’s head, which creates an “ah-ha!” moment when recognized. The labels, created by Graphic-FX, communicate the scenery and culture of Cades Cove combined with the elegance of the winery. The unique design immediately builds brand recognition. A color-coding system was also developed to help buyers distinguish the flavors, creating a vibrant display on shelves. The overall goal Graphic-FX wanted to achieve was increased awareness, sales, and profitability for Cades Cove Cellars. The Indy International Wine Awards received by Cades Cove Cellars were simply confirmation that their wine is truly exceptional in both taste and design.
