Lambert named Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center Executive Director

The Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center Board of Directors is pleased to announce Brent Lambert as the new Executive Director of the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center in Townsend, TN and will assume his role on Monday December 16, 2019.


Mr. Lambert, of Chattanooga TN, has 16 years of government and nonprofit management experience including his recent role as the Chief Operating Officer of the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum (Chattanooga) and former Council Member and Mayor of East Ridge, TN. Mr. Lambert has a proven record of partnership building and supporting the community. "I am tremendously excited to join the staff of the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center.  The Center has an incredibly supportive Board, a talented staff, and a phenomenal collection of historic structures and artifacts -- all of the elements needed for long-term success." says Lambert.


Linda Gullufsen, Chair of the Board of Directors, is confident in the future and success of the Heritage Center and said, "The Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center Board of Directors is excited to announce the hiring of Mr. Brent Lambert as its next Executive Director.  Brent has the leadership skills, experiences and vision necessary to move the Heritage Center forward in a new and positive season of growth."


The Heritage Center's Board of Directors would like that say thank you to Mr. Andrew Simon for fulfilling the role of the Interim Executive Director since May of this year. Mr. Simon will resume his position on the Board and part time Curator of Collections.
