King University Ranked as a Best Online School for MBA and Graduate-level Nursing Programs
King University has been named among the Best Online College for its Online Master of Business Administration (MBA) program and graduate-level Nursing programs which include both the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees. The rankings are part of the newly released U.S. News and World Report’s 2018 Best Online Programs Rankings lists, which can be viewed at https://www.usnews.com/education/online-education/articles/us-news-ranks-best-online-programs. This year’s ranking is King’s first appearance in the annual publication.
“King is pleased to be included in the recent U.S. News Best Online Programs report,” states Dr. Matt Roberts, Ed.D., vice president for Academic Affairs. “This acknowledgment is a tribute to King’s long-held tradition of academic excellence. King’s innovative degree programs are designed to open the availability of an undergraduate or graduate degree to both traditional students and adult learners.
The 2018 edition of the Best Online Graduate Nursing Programs rankings, ranked schools using five categories. They include student engagement (30%), faculty credentials and training (20%), peer reputation (20%), admissions (15%), and student services and technology (15%). U.S. News chooss factors, known as ranking indicators, to assess each program in the categories outlined above. A program’s score for each ranking indicator is calculated using data that the program reported to U.S. News in a statistical survey and a peer reputation survey.
The online Master of Science in Nursing degree (MSN) at King is designed to prepare professional nurses for specialty roles in advanced professional nursing. Specialty concentrations currently available include Nursing Administration and Nurse Educator.
The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree at King is designed for nurses seeking a terminal degree in nursing practice. The DNP offers an alternative to the research-focused terminal degree in nursing and prepares professional nurses to assume advanced roles in practice, executive function, quality and safety, informatics, and other positions of leadership in nursing and health care.
The 2018 Online edition of the Best Online MBA Program rankings evaluated schools based solely on data related to their distance education MBA programs.
For the 2018 edition, U.S. News ranked online MBA programs using five categories: student engagement (28%), admissions (25%), peer reputation (25%), faculty credentials and training (11%), and student services and technology (11%).
King’s online MBA program serves adults who have completed their Bachelor’s degree and who normally possess at least two full years of significant work experience. This enables the student to bring real-world examples to the classroom and learn from other working professionals as well. The primary goal of the MBA program is to prepare students to be effective strategic leaders and managers as well as to integrate directly management research, theoretical constructs, skills, abilities, and ethical practices within their own contemporary professional situations.
